Gratitude is the best Attitude

Have you ever done something for someone and didn’t even get a simple “Thank You” in return?  Oh come on…  I know we all say that we don’t do things to have someone say thank you, but if we were honest, in most cases we expect it. We hope that drilling manners into our children will cause them to grow up with a thankful heart.  We continue to tell them how blessed they are to live in a land where they have freedom, how blessed they are to have a roof over their head, how they need to be thankful for all they have been given.  And in this season of thankfulness, have I really had an attitude of gratitude? Ugh…  I have to admit that I don’t do those moments well…  You know…  Those where the Lord convicts you and says; you want everyone...

Mission Possible

Everyone is given a special assignment to complete while on this earth.  Some may call it a Mission…  A Calling…  It is a task that he/she feels it is their duty to carry it out.  Often times we get our “Self Mission” confused with our “God Mission”.   Proverbs 16:9 says:  A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.  We often have it all mapped out and God is saying;  those are your plans,  but I am the one who orders your steps. God gave you purpose and desires when he knitted you together in your mothers womb,  he placed your mission inside of you…  Jeremiah 1:5. I can hear you asking, how do I know my God Mission vs my Self Mission?   Our God Mission is a focus of motivating...

To the Fullest

For as long as I can remember, I have loved being in the sunlight.  It must have been prophetic that my mom said ; if she had not had a name picked out for me when I was born, it would have been Sunshine. As a child I would be outside from daybreak until sunset.  If it were summer months, you could guarantee that most of those hours involved some type of water.  It didn’t matter if it were a sprinkler system, swimming pool, lake, or the Ocean.  Water + Sun = awesome to me! A lot has changed thru the years but one thing remains, I still love water and Sun!  Three years ago when we moved to Tx, I was in awe when I realized that I could start my tanning as early as March.  Not to mention that the complex we lived in had its own private tanning bed that I...

Stretching to Strengthen

Have you ever felt like a rubber band, being stretched to your breaking point?   Have you ever said to yourself, “if one more thing happens, I’ll break”. This seems to be a theme these days.   I’ve had conversations with several people over the last few weeks, and they all say the same thing, “I’m not sure how much more I can take”.  As Christian’s we love to blame everything on our enemy.  No doubt that our adversary the devil, comes as a roaring lion, walking about, seeking whom he may devour: 1 Peter 5:8.  But, I wonder if we looked at it differently would we react differently?   Pastor Hagee said something in his sermon yesterday that stuck out. I’ve had this thought before, but I  needed to hear it...

Solid Rock or Shifting Sand?

Psalm 20:7 “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.” It is so easy to place our trust in several different things in life.  Every day that I get into my car, I trust that it’s going to start and get me from one place to another.   I trust that when the day is finished that I’ll have a soft place to lay my head at night.   But where is our trust when it comes to our children, spouses, and other family members? Relationships??? The scripture says Psalm 118:8 “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man But does that mean that we shouldn’t “trust man” at all?   I think not… Trust is the foundation of all relationships.  Is your foundation solid as...
